I am a tennis coach. I am a broadcaster. I am a son. I am a brother. I am a husband.
While each of these things stand out very uniquely for me, one thing I also am, is a storyteller. And no matter how much time I spend doing those other things and holding those other titles, if there's one thing I've learned about storytellers- it's that you can't stop being one.

I wouldn't say I have completely hidden from storytelling recently, but I have prioritized those other titles. And now, I feel like it is time to stop ignoring my storytelling side and jump back in with this blog.
My mission with this is to leave people with a good feeling about themselves and their community.
I am deeply inspired by another McDulin from a past generation- my Great Uncle Bill McDulin. Bill used to write a column called "Got A Minute" in the Hamilton Journal News in Ohio and I believe he followed that guiding principle that I aim for now.
The world is dark and dreary enough, some of us choose to point out that it actually is full of people who are smarter, kinder, and brighter, than what we are inundated with.
For those of you who don't know me I am a freshly married man as of October of 2022.
My wife Corrie and I have had a wonderful first year of marriage. We now live back in our Hometown Clear Lake (Houston), TX.
We adopted our first boy- our dog Tommy. He is as wild as a McDulin should be and requires much of our attention, but he has added an entertainment to our life that I never knew I needed!
In Houston I am the Pickleball Director & Head Tennis Professional at Bay Area Racquet Club. It is truly wonderful to get to be back "home".
Before Houston I lived in Chicago for 4 years working as a Tennis Pro and Director at Lakeshore Sport & Fitness. A time I look back on with deep fondness and appreciation to a long list of mentors, friends, and clients who welcomed an outsider with open arms.
Prior to that I spent a couple years at Allegheny Country Club in Pittsburgh. Another place full of amazing people. And our pro team "The Three Musketeers."
And before that I worked in Sports Broadcasting & Journalism covering the Ohio Bobcats, Hamilton Joes, and Pittsburgh Pirates.

In my line of work I have the privilege to work with people daily who are trying to learn new things, improve their athletic abilities & game, or just simply people who are trying to escape daily life with an activity.
Being around people, I get to learn a lot about them, and the core of what I've learned is that most people are warm, well intentioned, and have a sense of purpose.
Some people are driven by want and need, others driven by a drive to do good, others are driven by family, others are driven by selfishness, others by selflessness-but almost everyone is driven.
I truly believe there is a lot of good in this world. I hope you find a lot of fun in these blogs, some might seem random, others might seem on brand, but the goal is to highlight the unique stories, individuals, and add my observations on what makes up the world.
I hope you'll join along for the ride.
